Update of Recent Youth Reach Ministries

Over the last year, we have seen enormous progress in our ministry in the Diepsloot township. We have successfully continued our SCM in the Diepsloot Combined High School. Our counseling has been transformed with our new counseling room. And  we have also been able to continue bless the School with donations of scholastic materials for the primary graders.
This last year we have seen a huge progress with our Student Christian Meetings. Teens have come back after graduation to thank us for the support during their most difficult times. Some of them want to stay and volunteer with us, to pay it forward to their peers. One of the most amazing thing this last year, has been the countless testimonies received from the teens, of the lives changed; miracles in their homes; and friends that were made at SCM. We have not only seen the benefits of SCM in the kids personal lives, but also in the school work. Teachers and the principals have also seen the benefits of the SCM in the kids lives, and regularly thanked us for our invaluable work at the school.
After a traumatic situation with one of the teens, that deeply affected all the high school students, the principal asked us to be official counselors of the school. Now a permanent office for us has been set up at the school. Our professional counselors have been busy developing  a system of referrals, where the teachers can refer any one they feel needs the extra attention. Our counseling room is now open two days of the week.
Over the last year, our team leader Phoebe has been busy networking with sponsors. A needs assessment has been provided for the primary school, and various educational materials sponsored.
We are looking forward to all the progress we will make this year with new SCM’s being opened at new schools, with the Learner empowerment programs, and HIV Educational programs being created by our counselors. This year promises to have new heights reached and we hope you will join us and become a part of this worthwhile work.
